HOW I EVOLVED

Legacy Period (2015-2017)

Before Chromatic started to upload OSM videos, his channel was created on December 30, 2012, but he didn't upload his first video until September 5, 2015. It was a Minecraft introduction video in French (Chromatic's native language). His first videos are about Minecraft, Super Mario, MUGEN, and Pokemon Cards. Back then, he wasn't called Chromatic, he was called GabrielGamer580. However, these videos weren't successful to make his channel gain subscribers and views. (Around 30-50 subscribers and a ~75 of views)

DISCOVERING OSM & EARLY DAYS

First OSM Era (2017-2018)

He discovers OSM with Angel Toon's famous video called Windows End-Of-Support Versions. Along with this, he discovered MinderiaYouTuber along with his Windows History with Never Released Versions (Update 4) and met tons of more content creators in the community during the time (such as Luigi2012SM64, Santuchi, Windows Supporter, etc...)

After he uploaded his first OSM video, he upload more of these videos. He uploaded more OSM videos than non-OSM videos. Notable videos such as Microsoft Open History, NROS1:Reflex OS History (1911-2017) and NROS4: GabrielGamer OS History (2006-5000000017).

2ND OSM ERA (2018-2020)

Leaving the community... for a short amount of time

At one point, he announced that his last OSM video on his channel is going to be Windows Nether History (2050-0 ATE-FINAL ONE) on April 26, 2018. This caused a hit, making most of his fans pressure Chromatic to return to the OSM community.

The Return

On May 1, 2018, he announced that he will return to the OSM community after the pressure from his fans to return. After his announcement, he uploaded Windows Never Released 1 | Restart Edition. He will continue mostly upload videos until an announcement.

2ND OSM ERA (2018-2019)

The transition

GabGamerYT, formerly GabrielGamer580, decided to change username, this time as ChromaticGamer.

Fears of Article 13

In [Live,Special 600 SUBS Minecraft,WNR,NROS,Geometry Dash... Last Video of channel (Read Description)] on December 25, 2018, He announced that he won't upload any more videos due to fears of Article 13 in France, since France is a European Union Member. However, in Guess Who's Back? on January 1, 2019, he announce he would upload videos again because Article 13 wasn't in effect yet. In theory, he would stop uploading videos for good when Article 13 goes into effect.

2019

This year, Chromatic had been making lot of interesting videos, involving pseudo-futuristic designs. Such as his own vision of Minderian mockups, Windows Histories, and Update 7.

3rd OSM Era (2019-2020) - The Update 7 Ages

Update 7 was a fanmade update kit created by Chromatic back in 2019, it's intention was intended to dominate over Update 5 trying to be fancy and different from what other Update kits featured. Its slogan used to be "The Power Fantasy starts now". The kit was discontinued and then finally canceled in October 2020 due to Chromatic's retirement on Minderianism. In favor of Chromatic's OSMK continuation known as Heavenite Mockups Kit.

2020

Generation "Aleph"

Chromatic's channel is known for changing his designs and all being divided by generations. Generation Aleph was one of the projects from Chromatic, named after a level from Geometry Dash. And starting in August of 2019. During this transition, his channel gained more popularity due to his changing WNR content.

1000 subscribers

Chromatic reaches 1000 subscribers on the 10th of April 2020. This was celebrated on his Discord server in a Discord chat along with a face reveal on his channel. This was all thanks to the help of Jaroslav, one friend of Chromatic who helped on advertising his channel to others.

Generation "Imaginem Aeternus" (CURRENT)

Generation "Aeternus" would be the latest and yet last generation of Chromatic's identity for his social media. Featuring the combination of the three symbols he used on the previous third generations onto his channel. This was with the help of two content creators known as Jexx & fluenC (now known as sulflix).

4rd OSM Era (October 2020-July 2023)

Due to the amount of dramas people apparently made out of Chromatic's Update 7 Kit, he decides to move on from Minderia's community, as well as to discontinue anything that is related to Minderianism. Operating System Mockups #39 is the last episode from Chromatic using Minderia's content for his Windows Mockups.
The discontinuation of Update 7 lead him to continue one of his abandoned kits that would be an add-on of OS Mockup Kit and OSMK+, despite being marketed as a sequel of the former. Update Infinity, but he rebrands his kit as Heavenite Mockups Kit. The development of the kit began in Late-2020 and on January 22nd of 2021, the first version was released to the public.

2021

Operating System Mockups 50 was one of his biggest collaborations so far. Starting from May 13th, this episode contained over 500 mockups, of which 27 people from his community had contributed to it.

Chromatic posted the year 2021 recap video to recompile every moment from that year, along with redesigning his text logo. He came up with big promises for the year after that.

2022

The most notable year.

This year is amazing as many things came out. Such as:

2023

A disappointing year.

This year, not so many surprising stuff happened, as the Chapter 2022 was cancelled for lack of motivation and hardware limitations. Operating System Mockups Collab #70 was the only community collab this year, and perhaps the least elaborated and mostly rushed, and the personal collab from Operating System Mockups Collab #72 with RDesign.

5th OSM Era (August 2023)

With new arrivals such as a new laptop, new softwares, a new OSM Team, a new era had to begin, with new content such as Operating System Mockups #75: Endeavor Stellaris being the most hyping episode so far, with the collaboration of the full OSM team.

During this year, Chromatic had faced multiple life and personal issues, lightly deteriorating his mental health, which still goes on nowadays.

2024

Mental deterioration & struggle, but far better?

This year may have not been the best for in-real-life situations for Chromatic, considering the mental struggles he's been enduring since. But it has been very interesting outside that and inside his community. We can see a greater participation of his community in helping, communicating, and contributing.

Operating System Mockups #80: Everest had been released on the month of July, continuing the lore from OSM#50.
